“Looking back, looking beyond“ - An online presentation by ICOMOS India West Zone

Date: 18 Apr 2020 | Ahmedabad

ICOMOS India West Zone has a special focus on youth engagement in heritage.

On World Heritage Day, the West Zone has organized an online presentation by Ms. Aarya Chavda a 9 year old from Ahmedabad who is popular for her heritage artwork. She also gave introductory speech during UNESCO convention in 43rd World Heritage Committee at Baku, Azerbaijan.

Her art is published by UNESCO Delhi. During lock-down period, her online webinar shall be a very inspiring event for many children, youth and individuals.

How does a young mind perceive heritage?

Come, let’s hear it from Aarya, a 10 year old heritage enthusiast from Ahmedabad. As she began to sketch the heritage of her city, started falling in love with the cultural treasures. As a child she has published a few of her works already. On the International day for monuments and sites 2020, let us interact with her and all other young minds who like to engage with Heritage.

“Looking back, looking beyond“ says Aarya and invites you all in her own words :

“Would you like to come along,

where the knotty magical tree

Sways its entangled arms

and breathes life ?”

Please join us live on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/icomosindia/live/ at 5 pm on the occasion of International Heritage Day, 18th April, 2020 !
