Date: 23 Nov 2019 | Khajuraho

A heritage walk is planned on November 23rd 2019 in Khajuraho for the local community, will cover the architectural value and site interpretation aspects for the World Heritage site of Khajuraho temples in the western group of temples. The walk will be elaborating upon these aspects for the benefit of local people and school children to understand the site better as a whole, and develop knowledge about the unique architectural style and site planning, as the Outstanding Universal Values of the temples. The heritage walk aims to re-establish the connection of the local community with this 1000 years old heritage in their own region which has been disrupted due to the unsustainable tourism demands and pressure in the previous years.

The walk leader will be Mr. Geert Robberechts, who is an art historian and convenor, INTACH Belgium chapter. INTACH Belgium has been active and working for the holistic development of the Khajuraho heritage region since 2004.
