UNESCO World Heritage Volunteer Campaign 2022 at Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple

ICOMOS India is delighted to bring you the World Heritage Volunteer Campaign 2022 as a knowledge partner with Kakatiya Heritage Trust, with due permission from the UNESCO World Heritage Education Program. It is slated to be organised from 19th Sep 2022 to 30th Sep 2022 at Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple, Palampet, which was ascribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021. All members are requested to join.


The theme of the World Heritage Volunteer 2022 Campaign is resilience and remobilization towards World Heritage. The WHV Camp is intended to enrich in heritage conservation, protection and preservation among youth and local communities. In addition to documenting and spreading examples of active participation, stimulating a sense of responsibility and connecting international and local people with the site management and conservation authorities will be sought.
 

The participants will be empowered to enhance their understanding about Geo-Engineering aspects and construction technology of Kakatiyas by taking part in different activities ranging from heritage walks, heritage classes, quizzes, exploring local cuisine, paintings and performing arts with local youth, school students and community representatives. They will also prepare a documentary about the camp’s activities to promote the site and youth involvement in heritage protection across different social media platforms. Scheduled visits to various Kakatiya heritage sites in the vicinity of Ramappa such as Warangal fort, Thousand Pillar Temple and great lakes constructed by Kakatiyas will also be organized.

Eligibilities:

 Participant must be between 18 to 35 years old.
 Participant must have the background of History/Art/Archaeology/Architecture/Civil Engineering.
 Participant must be enthusiastic to explore heritage conservation and promotion at the World Heritage Site.
 
Registration Fees:

 INR Rs.100 for Indian Nationals 
 USD $ 50 for Foreign Nationals
(the registration fees includes transportation, accommodation and food, which will be taken care of by KHT along with commute to Warangal to Palampet and accommodation and local food at Palampet)
