Webinar on 'Majuli: India’s Cultural Landscape of Universal Value'

Date: 12 Dec 2022 | Zoom Platform
ICOMOS India is pleased to announce a joint webinar by North-East Zone, NSC Intangible Cultural Heritage, NSC Theophilos, NSC Cultural Landscapes & EPWG in collaboration with Majuli College, Jorhat, titled 'Majuli: India’s Cultural Landscape of Universal  Value' to be organized on 12 & 13 December 2022 on Zoom platform.

About the webinar:

The Government of India in March 2011 proposed to nominate Majuli for inclusion in the cultural landscape category of the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was shortlisted in the WHS Tentative List at the World Heritage Committee session at Suzhou in China. It is the largest stream island in the world, located at the Brahmaputra River. The cultural and natural significance of Majuli makes it imperative to have a discussion on ways to ensure this riverine island's spot in UNESCO's World Heritage List, which this webinar aims to focus on.

Details of the webinar:

Date: 12 & 13 December
Time: 2:00 PM onwards (for both days)
