Greetings! MAATI is excited to propose the launch of MAATI KATHA, a biannual publication set to debut in February and August. While we are diligently working towards our first issue, we are currently seeking contributors who share our passion for heritage conservation and architectural sustainability. MAATI KATHA aims to become a leading publication that delves into the preservation and celebration of India's rich architectural and cultural heritage. The magazine aspires to be an authoritative resource that bridges traditional knowledge with contemporary practices, fostering a vibrant community of enthusiasts, professionals, and academics. Our mission is to ignite a passion for architectural excellence, cultural preservation, and sustainable development. Our objectives are to disseminate knowledge, inspire innovation, and promote cultural and architectural appreciation. We aim to encourage community engagement, advocate for policy change, build a collaborative network, and support artisans and traditional skills, all while preserving and celebrating India's rich heritage. As we prepare for our first publication, we invite contributors to join us in our endeavour to preserve and celebrate India's cultural and architectural heritage. The theme for MAATI Katha Magazine, Issue 01, delves into the intricate relationship between natural landscapes and architectural identity, uncovering how these intertwined elements narrate the story of our cultural heritage. THEME: ROOTED REALMS: EXPLORING CULTURAL LANDSCAPES & ARCHITECTURAL IDENTITY DESCRIPTION: This theme investigates the close relationship between the natural environment and architectural identity. It looks at how geography influences building design and how architecture serves as a mirror to the culture of a region. Through various studies, the submissions will highlight regions where the landscape and architectural styles are deeply connected, demonstrating the powerful role of the environment in cultural preservation. We are seeking submissions in the form of articles, research papers, case studies and essays in not more than 2000 words. Submission Details: Deadline: 15 October 2024 Email: maatikatha@maatishala.com For more details visit: https://maatishala.com/news/call-for-submissions/
